According to Ayurveda, Turmeric is used to balance all three doshas namely Vata, Pitta and Kapha. In this product we have used combination of Turmeric and Ginger due to the fact that excessive use of Turmeric can aggravate Pitta and Vata Doshas in the body. Turmeric has a bitter taste called “Rasa”, an astringent energetic effect called “Virya”, and has pungent and heating post-digestive effect called “Vipaka”.
Ginger has “Bhedan or Purgative”, “Deepan or Appetizer”, and “Guru or Heavy” properties to promote healthy digestion. Ginger also helps to reduce the symptoms of cough, cold, and body ache due to its “Vata-Kapha” balancing nature.
The combination of Turmeric and Ginger has been used for centuries. Turmeric and ginger can have pain-relieving effects for a variety of ailments. “Curcumin”, an anti-inflammatory compound in turmeric has been found to help relieve the symptoms of painful inflammatory diseases, like arthritis and colitis. The compound in ginger called “Gingerol” is responsible for its pungent flavor, and its protective properties. Gingerol has been found to improve inflammatory conditions from a common cold to inflammatory bowel disease.
